US-based Capital Group has appointed a senior relationship manager and relocated its Sydney offices in the lead-up to a series of initiatives to expand the Australia arm of the business.
Former AllianceBernstein staffer Craig Matthew has joined Capital Group as senior relationship manager after 19 years with AllianceBernstein's Australian and US operations.
Capital Group's Australian country head Paul Hennessy said Matthew's consultative approach and partnership style aligned with Capital Group's approach to client servicing.
"Craig's extensive industry experience and client-focused approach is well suited to the next phase of Capital Group's expansion in the Australian market," he said.
A Capital Group representative hinted a number of upcoming local initiatives would focus on a particular asset class and its suitability for the Australian market.
"It's an important time for the business and Craig's appointment is important in bringing that to life," the representative said.
The group, which manages US$1.1 trillion, has secured larger premises in Sydney's CBD and will relocate in the coming months.
