Former Goldman Sachs chief investment officer Andrew Cooke has joined the AVSuper trustee board as an employer-nominated director, following his recent appointment to Equip's investment committee.

Cooke replaces Tom Grant who retired from AVSuper's board in January.

He has extensive experience as a chartered financial analyst and in investments and investment governance, AVSuper said.

Prior to his most recent role with Goldman Sachs, Cooke was head of global research at Citigroup Global Asset Management. He also recently joined the board of Korowa Foundation, a fundraising initiative linked to Korowa Anglican Girls' School.

Equip chair Andrew Fairley announced Cooke's appointment to its investment committee late last week.
