Former Australian Ethical Investment managing director Anne O'Donnell has taken up the position of non-executive chairman of Equity Trustees' superannuation business.
Taking over from retired chairman Rob Dillon, she will oversee the Equity Trustees Superannuation (ETSL) business, which includes Equity Super, Freedom of Choice Superannuation Masterfund, and Apex Super.
Dillon is the founder of Wealthpac Master Fund, and was appointed managing director for both Equity Trustees and Wealthpac when the business was acquired in 2003. He has remained on the board, and has acted as chairman for the past six years.
Also retiring from ETSL is managing director Adrian Young, who was instrumental in a number of key acquisitions, including that of OAMPS Super Fund 2010.
Over a career spanning 32 years, O'Donnell has served as a director of the Financial Services Council and The Centre for Australian Ethical Research.
She is currently a member of Equity Trustees' audit and compliance committee.
"I announced a few months ago our intention to restructure our business so that ETSL becomes part of a broader 'private wealth services' business, along with our private client trustee, wealth management and aged care advisory activities, and the appointment of Anne as chair of ETSL is an important step in this restructure," Equity Trustees managing director Robin Burns said.
"Geoff Rimmer, who joined us in July as head of private wealth services, will be responsible for growing our superannuation services in both the corporate and SMSF markets within the broader wealth services mandate," she said.
The fund has hired a former ART executive as its new head of group strategy.
The sovereign wealth fund has revealed six internal hires to support the execution of key strategies.
The fund has announced the departure of a second senior executive in as many months, with its chief member officer to finish up mid-December.
The $89 billion fund has announced a new leadership role within its private markets team.
