MetLife Insurance has appointed 10 senior hires and 25 new hires this year with aims to increase operational capabilities, and improve information, digital, and data capabilities.

The senior hires are executive roles across the banking, finance, and insurance industries including new head of operations and service delivery, Jeremy Simmons, and direct contract centre manager, Joshua McKenzie. Simmons joins from life insurer TAL and McKenzie from Stream Live in the UK.

MetLife Australia chief executive, Deanne Stewart, said the strategic customer service and operational experience of the appointments will help drive key improvements to benefit MetLife's superannuation fund clients and their members.

"Our new team members ensure we are in the best possible position to face the industry challenges ahead and capture new opportunities, while all the time improving service to customers," she said.

In the digital strategy and technology space the firm appointed Matthew O'Halloran as the new head of IT infrastructure, following the appointments of Oliver Johnson as head of business intelligence and data governance, and Aaron Fuller as head of data and digital, earlier this year.

O'Halloran joined from Toyota Financial services, while Johnston joined from NAB, and Fuller from Hollard Insurance.

"With sophisticated technology we can understand our customers, systems and processes better than ever before. The expertise Matthew, Oliver, and Aaron bring to the team will allow us to take a smarter approach to data and digital resulting in improved digital consultation for our clients," Stewart said.
