MLC focuses on group insurance

MLC Life Insurance has expanded its team to renew its focus on the group insurance sector following the partnership between National Australia Bank (NAB) and Nippon Life Insurance Company.

The team has been expanded with the recruitment of experience pricing actuaries, insurance product experts, and relationship managers.

Commenting, MLC Life Insurance group insurance chief customer officer, Suzanne Smith said: "Our highly experienced team brings invaluable industry knowledge and insight, as well as a deep passion for people and customers, which is at the core of our business. Our partnering with customers is fuelled by this passion and is a key differentiator for us in the market".

"The recent acquisition of 80 per cent shares of MLC Limited, by the Nippon Life Insurance Company, the eighth largest life insurer in the world, presents us with the opportunity to invest and grow," she said.

"With this expanded team in place, we are in a very strong position to deepen our existing partnerships with our customers and expand our industry fund portfolio."

The new hires included Michael Shagrin who will lead the industry super relationship management team, Jenny Liu as pricing manager, Megan Clements as strategic product manager, Sean Potter as senior relationship manager, and Matt Lang as senior manage for transformation.
