NAB Asset Services has appointed Peter Hele to the role of head of business development for Australia and New Zealand.

Hele, who had been part of the business for 14 years, will be responsible for new business across all industry sectors, including sub custody. He will also be in charge of NAB's engagement with industry custody consultants.

He spent the last two years developing the product framework for NAB Asset Services and connecting NAB's strategic partners with clients.

Executive general manager Christine Bartlett said Hele had a proven track record in client and business development.

"Peter's main focus will be to enhance engagement with consultants, as well as regular communication to the market about the business," Bartlett said.

"Peter will also leverage the broader NAB and Bank of New York Mellon relationship to bring value to new business clients," she said.

Hele will report to Suzanne Smith, general manager for sales and relationships and will commence his new role from Monday, 20 January.
