NAB has promoted Suzanne Smith to the position of general manager for sales and relationships at NAB's Asset Servicing business.
Smith has over two decades experience in funds management, relationship management, investment banking, and in the hedge fund and commercial property sectors.
Smith joined NAB in 2009 as general manager of NAB group relationships in wholesale banking before switching to NAB's Asset Servicing business in 2011.
She spent two years as NAB's general manager of client delivery with the asset servicing division managing a large team and overseeing the delivery of all products and services to clients.
Establishing a boutique global hedge fund with colleagues from ANZ, Smith spent five years running the operations, investor services and compliance functions. She also held senior positions with ANZ Investment Bank and ANZ funds Management and was elected as a member representative on the ANZ staff superannuation fund.
"At a time when clients are expecting more value-add from their custody provider, relationships have never been more important. I am delighted to appoint Suzanne to this role and to leveraging her experience in the industry.
"Our business' goal is to build on our existing strength as the market leading provider, whilst continuing to enhance our high-quality offering to clients," said Christine Bartlett, executive general manager for NAB Asset Servicing.
