Orbis Investments has appointed Stu Place as a senior institutional client manager, based in Melbourne.
Place had worked as an associate director for IFM’s institutional business for eight years and was previously at Mercer in marketing then business development.
Jason Ciccolallo, Orbis head of institutional business, said the appointment was a commitment to the Australian institutional space.
“It’s great to have someone of Stu’s experience joining the Orbis team where he will be responsible for managing institutional client and consultant relationships,” Ciccolallo said.
Orbis Investments had been investing globally for 30 years and had over $50 billion in assets under management.
The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) has announced changes to its structure, marking an “exciting phase of growth” for the organisation.
The $74 billion fund has welcomed an experienced CIO to lead its investment strategy.
With the merger between Mine Super and TWUSuper in its late stages, the head of the soon-to-be combined fund is the latest to join ASFA’s board.
The fund has announced new additions to its trustee board.
