State Street Corporation has announced Kevin Wong as head of sector solutions for the Asia Pacific region.
He replaces Chris Taylor, who was recently appointed to head of the firm’s global services and global markets businesses in Australia.
Based in Hong Kong, Wong will be part of the senior leadership team and his role will be to open new revenue doors and build a business pipeline for the firm’s Asia Pacific markets.
He will report to head of State Street’s Asia Pacific Global Services and Global Markets businesses Wai-Kwong Seck.
“Kevin brings immense experience to this role at State Street, having held senior positions responsible for growing market share,” Seck said.
Wong was previously at Citibank where he was China country manager for their securities and fund services business.
He has 19 years’ experience in global custody, fund administration, securities lending and cash management across Asian markets.
The $340 billion fund has welcomed three senior investment executives to its London office as it continues to internalise the management of international equities, its single largest asset allocation.
The fund has hired a former ART executive as its new head of group strategy.
The sovereign wealth fund has revealed six internal hires to support the execution of key strategies.
The fund has announced the departure of a second senior executive in as many months, with its chief member officer to finish up mid-December.
