Alex Francois will lead William Blair Investment Management in its push into the Australian and New Zealand institutional market.
The newly created position of head of Australia and New Zealand institutional distribution is responsible for the company's institutional distribution efforts across both countries and reports to William Blair global head of business development and client services, Dan Charles.
Francois has over 20 years industry experience, most recently as head of distribution investments at Provident Capital. He also spent six years at Principal Global Investors as its head of sales and marketing, and oversaw the relaunch of the company after the sale of BT to Westpac.
Francois also held senior roles with Schroder Investment Management, Deutsche Asset Management, and ING NZ.
Head of William Blair, Michelle Seitz, said the company was excited about serving a fast-growing client base across Australia and New Zealand, citing Francois' experience in the Australian market as an asset to the team.
