Diversified financial services group Mariner Financial has announced the appointment of as its chief financial officer and and as independent directors of the company.
Commenting on the appointments, Mariner managing director said, “We are very pleased to appoint people of such high calibre, further enhancing corporate governance and strengthening the board”.
Cubis joins Mariner Financial from (PBL), where he served as the chief financial officer of Nine Network Australia for three years, responsible for driving financial reforms across (ACP) and other PBL divisions.
Before the move to the , he was the chief financial officer at ACP, Australia’s largest magazine publisher.
Alan Stockdale has had a successful and varied career, with extensive experience in the private sector as an industrial relations adviser, advocate and senior corporate executive. He has worked with Macquarie Bank in different positions and though retired now from his full-time role, he still consults to lawyers.

Carroll joins Pengana as institutional business consultant, while Fisher joins the Pengana Property Securities Fund team as a portfolio manager.
Formerly the chief executive officer of , Carroll brings over 17 years financial services experience to the role. Drawing on his background working with wholesale clients, he will be responsible for providing strategic input to Pengana’s institutional business and product range.
Carroll will work closely with , Pengana’s head of alternative strategies distribution, and the senior management team to identify and capture future business and product opportunities.
Carroll was chief executive officer of AvSuper for 15 years and has worked for a leading international funds management group for the past two years. He was also a founding member of the (FEAL) and a former chairman.
Fisher joins Pengana from the ASX-listed Reckson , where she was director, investor relations. Prior to this, she spent three years with , where she was property securities portfolio manager for the Glebe Diversified Property Fund. She also has five years experience as a senior property analyst with and spent two years as an analyst with .
Research house van Eyk has announced the appointment of l to its asset consulting team, and to the distribution team.
As a senior consultant with van Eyk’s asset consulting team, Randall’s role centres on key account management and the facilitation of technical research and advice. This includes setting investment policy, selecting fund managers and creating portfolios for different risk profiles for van Eyk’s consulting clients, which include master trusts, fund managers and superannuation trustees.
Randall’s career spans 12 years in the finance industry, primarily in asset consulting roles. She joined van Eyk after asset and investment consulting roles with , BT Financial Group and six and a half years with (now Russell Investment Group).
Randall’s appointment follows recent changes within van Eyk’s Asset Consulting business group. was recently promoted to manager of asset consulting following ’s lateral move to the Strategic Research Unit.
