The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) has postponed its conference to 3 to 5 February, 2021.
The ASFA Conference was due to be held in November 2020 in Brisbane but has been moved due to the increasing COVID-19 cases in Victoria and the “unfolding situation” in New South Wales, an announcement said.
The conference would still be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
“We think it is critical for the industry to come together in a physical environment to reflect on the challenges of the year past and refocus on bettering outcomes for our members,” ASFA said.
Jim Chalmers has defended changes to the Future Fund’s mandate, referring to himself as a “big supporter” of the sovereign wealth fund, amid fierce opposition from the Coalition, which has pledged to reverse any changes if it wins next year’s election.

Specific valuation decisions made by the $88 billion fund at the beginning of the pandemic were “not adequate for the deteriorating market conditions”, according to the prudential regulator.
