The former chairman of ColonialFirstState and chief executive of Challenger Financial Service’s wealth management division, Chris Cuffe, has joined the board of industry fund Unisuper.
Unisuper this week announced the appointment of Cuff along with another new board member, former chief investment officer with AMP Capital Investors Mervyn Peacock.
The superannuation fund said the two men joined the board as independent directors, with Peacock becoming chair of the board’s investment committee.
The two appointments see the Unisuper board expand by 11 members, and bring the number of independent directors to three.
Unisuper said the expansion was intended to deepen the mix of commercial skills and experience available to the fund.
The industry fund has upped its investment in start-ups, helping to unlock the benefits of innovation and emerging technologies.
