What types of investment strategies are offered to members?
We’ve helped Australians prepare for a better retirement for over 40 years. Our record of strong long-term investment performance* is among the best in the industry, and our fees are some of the lowest you can find.
With UniSuper, you have the flexibility to select one or more options, choosing from seven pre-mixed options and nine sector-specific options, each with different strategies and risk profiles. Pre-mixed options are ready-made investment portfolios that include a diverse range of asset classes. The allocation to each asset class varies depending on the risk profile and strategy of the option. Sector options invest in one asset class or theme and allow you to be more hands-on in setting your strategy.
What sets UniSuper apart from other funds?
We’re a consistently top-performing Australian superannuation fund with our Balanced investment option delivering top quartile returns over 5, 7 and 10 years to 30 June 2023. Our Balanced option has also outperformed the industry median in average yearly investment returns over the 10 years to 30 June 20231. We manage over 70 per cent of our assets in-house, which is one of the reasons we’re able to keep our fees to some of the lowest and offer a variety of options for different types of investors.

What has defined UniSuper’s success over the past few years?
One of UniSuper’s key goals is to be the Netflix of retirement, which means providing personalised retirement options driven by member insights and understanding. We have been in the business of retirement for more than 40 years. Our strategy is centred around helping our members make confident decisions to live their best possible retirement, whatever their situation.
UniSuper does this through the help we provide members – whether that’s education, guidance, or our award-winning financial advice. We aim to ensure as members approach those decisions, we can offer hyper-personalised experiences that help to make the options available clear, so they feel confident and empowered. Retirement isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Why should Australians choose UniSuper?
While UniSuper’s heritage means that those from the higher education and research sectors are a big component of the fund’s membership, it has been open to all Australians for over two years now and we’ve had strong take-up from Australians in all walks of life.
The recent CoreData survey rated UniSuper as the top performer amongst super funds (excluding SMSFs) in terms of member preparedness to retire and retirement satisfaction. We’re proud of this because it shows we are living our values to serve our members well.
